Our focus at Tinker is to empower young artists to develop their individual style through exploring foundational art techniques across a multidiscinplinary practice.
Term OneWorks on paper. Exploring a new theme each year looking at mediums watercolour, drawing, markers, collage.

Term TwoPrintmaking. Students will create their own artist book filled with a range of print making techniques.

Term ThreeSculpture. Each year we explore a range of clay, construction and textile techniques.

Term FourPainting. Each year students will create an acrylic work on canvas to be showcased at our annual student exhibition event.

Our whyTinker offers regular afterschool term classes in Toowoomba & Highfields.
Our classes encourage creative confidence and individuality. Founded by Alex Stalling, with over a decade of teaching the creative arts to adults > kids Tinker was founded on the belief that everyone should have access to authentic arts programs that develop our individual creative confidence. At Tinker we understand that outcomes happen naturally, yet through providing creative autonomy through developing confidence in skills and materials creates creative curiosity and trust. Tinker is passionate about working with professional, practicing and qualifiied artists with different styles and influences. We believe exposure to individuality and difference is key in the development of young creative minds. Individuality is our difference. We love to give students the space to explore different techniques that adapt to their own interests. We are not afraid to gentle challenge their comfort zones and we embrace with wins and the not so great artworks too. |
What they LearnTinker prides itself on offering a multidiscinplinary style of arts education.
Incorporating foundation techniques and modern styles. Our terms focus on a key artistic style including drawing, painting, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. Every year is different with most students rolling on from one term to the next growing and developing their skills. We know that through exploring a varied range of artistic media students develop their overall creative problem solving, imagination and ability.
